If you’re like us, you wander through the store imagining how you might use whatever our consignors or favorite brands have brought in.  This week we are imagining how we might use . . . .

A set of decanters . . .

Decanters Currently Available at Home Again

Consignors frequently bring us gorgeous decanters from the likes of Baccarat and Waterford.  Traditionally, they are filled and arranged on a sideboard or bar.  But this week we are imagining them in a setting like this bedroom, designed by Mary McDonald.  After inheriting a collection, Mary was at a loss for how to display all of the gorgeous crystal.  Rather than take the traditional bar route, she clustered them together on the ottoman in the seating area of her bedroom (they are somewhat hidden here behind the canopy).

Gold lamps . . .

This pair of adorable gold lamps with a circle motif are the perfect update for any space in need of a face lift.  We would love them in a living room, bedroom, office, or entry.

But right now we are loving the way they look arranged on this mirrored console.  The are so light and airy, they can sit atop the mirror without weighing it down.  So gorgeous!

Gold bamboo coffee table . . .

When this hollywood regency style faux bamboo coffee table, many of us at Home Again could not contain our excitement.  Although the piece is vintage, and brought to us by a consignor, it is right on trend for today! We love the size of the table (just small enough to be able to work in almost any space) and the amazing texture of the worn gold on the legs.

We’d love to use it in a modern and fresh space, where the glass top offers the aesthetic advantage of keeping the table from taking up too much visual space. The table featured in the image below looks very similar to the one we have in the store now, and we love the way the designer used it in this room.  Although very casual, this room has many details that give it a sophisticated, feminine feeling.  The glass table top and worn gold certainly go a long way in creating texture in the room.

At Home Again we are loving a pair of consigned wingback chairs currently on our sales floor, and we’re all dreaming up different ways we’d use them . . . .  Here is an image of one of the chairs in the identical pair:

Although we all know the traditional use for a wingback in a seating area, such as in a living room.  However, today there are many more modern takes on the wingback.

Today designers also us the wingback as a dining dining chair, an interesting way to add both comfort and height the look of the kitchen or dining area.

Designers also continue to use wingbacks in living rooms, even in modern and transitional spaces.  In this transitional space, the designer upholstered a pair of wingbacks in a modern geometric pattern that makes them look very of the moment.

In this modern space, an armless wingback offers height on one side of the room, while a modern chaise (similar to one currently available at Home Again!) offers a horizontal line on the opposite side of the room.

Our friend Brooks was perusing this month’s House Beautiful, and when studying the photos he realized he recognized some pieces currently available at Home Again!  The article features a Boston apartment designed by Sister Parish, and updated by her former employee, interior designer Libby Cameron.  The space is filled with lovely accessories, some of which you can find at Home Again.  We are loving the sconces in this dramatic living room!
